Progress…..

This is where I’m up to on The Heart of The Thistle ….

IMGP0718

The centre, done in tent stitch, and two of the side thistle leaves. These are all the colours in the palette…the remainder will ‘pull’ the colours together. The Renaissance wool colours are just amazing!

IMGP0720

The bottom leaf, done in woad colours in tent stitch.

IMGP0721

I will need to blog past experiences and current posts, otherwise I’ll never catch up! :-)

That's growing fast and looking good! I was wondering how well the ?trellis stitch original would translate to tent stitch - it's working well, isn't it? (I don't think I'd have the patience for doing it in tent stitch at that scale. Not a favourite stitch of mine.)I'm looking forward to seeing how it progresses from here.

Ok, I've got good news and bad news about a floor frame that might meet your needs. First, the good news. Cozy Cottage makes a frame called the StitchMate with an arm that can swing out of the way along a horizontal plane. A friend who has one says it was the only floor frame she could use that allowed her to jump up out of her stitching chair when one of her dogs started a commotion. (She has carpet on her floors and the other frames don't slide well on carpet.) The bad news is that the man who ran Cozy Cottage just died and the website is gone. So if you want to get one of these, it's probably going to have to be second hand on eBay or something. It looks like folks bought directly from Cozy Cottage instead of buying through a shop so no one has these in stock. Here are two links to plenty of pictures.

Don't know if this will work for you and I don't know if you can get your hands on one, but I thought you should know about this. I don't know the prices as my friend doesn't remember (she bought one when the company was first opened) and the website is gone.

Oh, well, good luck anyway!

Hi Jane!
Thankyou so much for the information on frames. Who would have thought a horizontally swinging arm would be so difficult? I might have to have one custom made, drat it!
